Having lived in Singapore for over a decade, Richard Chiu has experienced a unique life as a Lutheran pastor. With only about 3000 members of the Lutheran Church in the country, he finds himself in the religious minority. However, the Crossings conference reminds him that he is not alone, but part of a larger Christian body.
The Crossings conference has also helped Richard take pause and consider more deeply the issues facing a multi-religious, multi-racial society; issues he sees both in Singapore and the United States.
Richard feels Crossings is beneficial for laity and clergy, having participated in events and conferences both in the United States and Singapore. He is also glad to have the Crossings website as a resource.
