We are all haunted by this question. We can never find a satisfying answer because of “The Tyranny of the Adverb.” Such adverbs like “really” always force us to look at ourselves and ask HOW MUCH is real? We can never be sure. We always need MORE. The adverbs make the unconditional announcement of the Gospel conditional on us and what we do. The good news is that it has nothing to do with us and everything to do with God … In Christ!
